Why choose Match Foster Care as your fostering agency of choice in Worcestershire

Established over a decade ago, Match Foster Care has only been in the hands of experienced social workers. It was founded by Carrie Marsh, whose parents were foster parents.  Carrie is proud to count her foster brothers and sisters as key members of her family.  This direct experience means we have a long experience of witnessing the positive difference loving foster homes can make in the life of a child. As a foster parent, you’ll benefit from the support of multidisciplinary professionals who accompany you along the fostering journey, ensuring you have the training and tools required to help a child achieve their full potential:

Match Foster Care is an independent foster agency, supporting children between the ages of 0 and 17 and their foster carers.

We will make sure that you hear from the real experts in foster care as part of your preparation for role.  You will have the chance to ask foster carers and fostered young people what makes the biggest difference to them.  This will give you the confidence to work out if fostering is right for you.  As one of the most child-focussed agencies for foster care in Worcestershire, we are dedicated to helping you move forward successfully with the fostering journey and to make it a rewarding career.

Match Foster Care FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

Foster parents get paid a generous fostering allowance for each child in their care, which you can check using the fostering allowance calculator. While the foster care allowance is taxable, many of our foster parents only pay very little, if any, tax at all.

Foster parents must be responsible and fit enough to care for a young person between the ages of 0 and 17. Worcestershire fostering agencies may need you to be available even on short notice to look after a child. Depending on whether you get long-term or short-term foster children, you may want to keep a part-time job to secure your household income. As a foster parent, you can still work as long as it doesn’t impede your fostering services. We do not expect you to be available at all times.  Part of our assessment process is to understand whether you have sufficient availability.

Foster parents do not need to be British citizens. Yet you have to be a UK resident or have an indefinite leave to remain to provide foster care services in Worcestershire.

There’s no requirement to have your own home. But it is important to provide the child with a spare bedroom.
