Foster Care Fortnight 2024

The Fostering Network’s annual campaign which recognises the tireless work of foster carers who improve the lives of children in foster care is about to begin.

Known as Foster Care Fortnight, the event gives the chance for the foster community to share the moments that have mattered to them. Whether you are a foster carer or a young person who has been fostered, the experiences you share through the hashtags #FosteringMoments and #FCF24 are set to have a wide audience reach.

Providing you the opportunity to connect with others in the foster care network, Foster Care Fortnight is all about shining a light on the importance of fostering in the UK.

For those new to Foster Care Fortnight, here are the full details including how to take part in this year’s event.

What is Foster Care Fortnight?

Foster Care Fortnight is a UK-wide campaign held annually to raise awareness about the importance of fostering. The aim is to encourage individuals and families to consider becoming foster carers through sharing positive experiences about the impact that fostering can have. In particular, there is a shortage of foster carers in the UK which is why events such as Foster Care Fortnight are so important to raise awareness.

Who runs Foster Care Fortnight?

This event is hosted by The Fostering Network. They are highly passionate and committed to supporting foster carers and have successfully run this campaign for almost 20 years.

This campaign became so popular that annually, Foster Care Fortnight receives over 1,000 social media posts from foster families, celebrities and politicians from the UK who show their support. For 2024, we’d like you to join them!

When Is Foster Care Fortnight 2024?

Foster Care Fortnight 2024 will take place from Monday 13 May – Sunday 26 May 2024. The theme of this year’s campaign is #FosteringMoments
