Wherever you live in the areas we cover, you receive the same clear and fair approach to fostering allowances.
Your main financial support is your weekly fostering allowance, which covers the cost of caring for a child and recognises your skills as a foster carer. The rate depends on the type of placement and the child's needs, not on your postcode.
Foster carers may also benefit from special tax arrangements for foster carers, which mean many carers pay little or no tax on their fostering income. Depending on your circumstances, you may still be able to claim some benefits while fostering. We can point you to independent advice so you understand how fostering may affect your own situation.
Because our offices and staff are local, our support is local too.
