Fostering Allowance Rates Explained
Fostering allowances with Match Foster Care are paid for every week a child lives with you. The amount depends on the type of placement and the needs of the child, so a respite placement over a weekend is paid differently from a long-term or specialist placement.
Short-term, long-term and emergency placements are paid at a weekly rate that covers the costs of caring for a child, plus a fee that recognises your skills and time as a foster carer. Respite placements are paid for the nights a child stays with you. Specialist placements, such as therapeutic fostering, parent and child, or caring for children with complex needs, attract an enhanced rate.
Because rates are reviewed regularly, the most accurate way to see current figures is to use our finance calculator or speak to our team. We will give you a clear breakdown for the type of fostering you are interested in, with no hidden extras.
