Your Partner in Fostering
Your supervising social worker is your main source of support and guidance as a Match foster carer. Think of them as a partner in fostering, there to help you and your family every step of the way.
You can expect regular supervision visits, where you will talk about how things are going, how the child in your care is doing and any support you need. They will also make unannounced visits from time to time, which is a normal part of fostering. Between visits, they are always at the end of the phone.
Your social worker will help you plan your training, prepare for meetings and reviews, and complete your annual foster carer review. If you face a challenge, they will help you find a way through it, including bringing in our multi-disciplinary team if needed.
Because Match social workers have low caseloads, they really get to know you. Many of our carers say this personal relationship is one of the most valuable parts of fostering with us. Find out more on our Supervising Social Worker page, try our finance calculator, or get in touch with our team.
