Learning and Support From Each Other
Some of the best support comes from people who have been there themselves. Our foster carer community gives you the chance to learn from other carers and to share your own experience as you grow in your role.
Regular support groups give carers a safe space to talk about the joys and challenges of fostering. Experienced carers are always happy to offer advice, and many groups include a short training session or a visit from a member of our multi-disciplinary team.
Training together also helps carers build friendships and confidence. Hearing how other families have handled similar situations often makes new ideas easier to put into practice at home.
Alongside the community, you continue to receive one-to-one support from your supervising social worker and 24/7 help from staff who know your family. Together, this creates a network of support around you and the children in your care. Find out more on our Foster Carer Community page, try our finance calculator, or get in touch with our team.
