Paperless Fostering in Stoke-on-Trent: Why Match Foster Care Doesn’t Require Daily or Weekly Logs

Fostering with Purpose in Stoke-on-Trent

At Match Foster Care, we believe fostering is about creating meaningful connections and giving children in Stoke-on-Trent the time, care, and attention they need to thrive. One way we support our foster parents in focusing on what matters most is by not requiring them to complete daily or weekly reports about the children in their care.

Acknowledging Local Foster Carers’ Needs

When setting up our agency, we reflected on our own experiences and listened to foster carers in the Stoke-on-Trent area who shared how repetitive and time-consuming logging information could be. After a long day of supporting children, completing administrative tasks was often the last thing they wanted—or needed—to do. That’s why we do things differently at Match.

Personalised Support for the Stoke-on-Trent Community

While we still need to know the important details of a child’s journey, we take a more personal and flexible approach tailored to the needs of our local community. Our social workers carry very low caseloads—caring for a maximum of 15 children, often fewer—so they have the time to really connect with you and the children in your care. Instead of asking you to log every detail, we encourage open communication through regular supervision visits and catch-up calls. In between these visits, all we ask is that you give us a call if something is worrying you or feels out of the ordinary.

Streamlined Communication

When you share information with us, we’ll handle it from there, whether that means sending emails, informing relevant professionals, or taking other necessary actions. Our priority is to free you from unnecessary administrative tasks so that your time is spent where it’s needed most—caring for the children of Stoke-on-Trent.

Focusing on What Matters

We’ve designed our approach to focus on meaningful conversations and the bigger picture. We don’t need reactive logs about daily routines or what the children had for breakfast; instead, we want to hear about the moments that matter, the things that may impact the children’s lives, and any concerns you may have. Our team is always available for a catch-up, and we’re here out of hours if you need urgent support.

Empowering Foster Parents in Stoke-on-Trent

By eliminating the requirement for daily or weekly logs, we aim to place you where you’re most needed—being present for the children in your care. At Match, we’re committed to working in partnership with you and the local community, ensuring that our systems and support truly enhance your role as a foster parent.

A Rewarding Journey in Your Community

We hope this approach makes your fostering journey with us in Stoke-on-Trent more rewarding and less stressful, leaving you with more time for what really matters: building strong, supportive relationships with the children who need you. Contact our team for more information!
